The fifty-second year of the Český Krumlov Rally confirmed the difficulty of this South Bohemian competition.
There were also typical May local showers, which made it especially difficult for the drivers to choose tires. The crew of Filip Kohn – Ross Whittock, from the AUTOSPEKTRUM Škoda Team dealer team, started in Český Krumlov for the first time, and this Czech-British pair crossed the finish ramp in Jelení žardž in ninth place.
The rider from Příbram finished the opening Friday stage in 7th place overall, especially after a night ride through the demanding, twenty-four-kilometer Kohout – Ján special stage, in which he set the sixth fastest time. "I'm surprised by how demanding Krumlov is. I started here for the first time and it's one of the hardest, if not the hardest competition in the Czech championship. After all, this is also said by riders who know Krumlov and have been there for many years. And I wouldn't believe how often and quickly the weather can change. However, we rode quite well," Filip Kohn assessed Friday's opening of the competition.
